2020-2021 School Year

After months of planning and a tremendous amount of effort by the Director and Executive Board, we have made the extremely difficult decision not to open Glenbrook in September. Given the emerging data about children catching and spreading COVID-19, we have decided to take the most cautious approach in order to protect the safety and well-being of our children, families and staff.

This pandemic has been extremely challenging for all members of the Glenbrook community. Our goal has always been to provide a learning environment that is safe for our children, families and staff members. Although we have worked hard to develop and prepare a solid plan for reopening, there are still many safety concerns and uncertainties. As a result, we have determined that postponing our opening until early 2021 is the best course of action at present.

This is a temporary closure, and we are committed to re-opening Glenbrook as soon as we can do so in a way that protects the health and safety of our children and staff. We will continue to monitor health and safety guidelines and data associated with COVID-19 as we have done for the past few months to re-evaluate the possibility of opening and will keep you informed through our website and social media channels (Facebook and Instagram) as we move through this process.

We know that this may be very disappointing to some of you. We too share your disappointment and hope that you can understand and continue to support Glenbrook and our teachers. Glenbrook’s nearly 80 year long history is a wonderful one. Now more than ever, we hope that you will continue to support Glenbrook and its legacy as we move through the upcoming months and look to the future. We are sad the children will not be able to experience the benefits of a full cooperative preschool education, but with your help and understanding during this challenging time, we know we can look forward to safely opening our doors and enjoying many more years of learning, play and community at Glenbrook.

Open Houses

Although the school is closed to in-person tours at this time, we are happy to discuss our unique school over the phone or meet via video call. You can also take an online tour of our beautiful campus here. Open Houses will resume when the Maryland Stay At Home Order is lifted.

Registration Process

We ask prospective parents to visit Glenbrook prior to applying for admission. Visiting families will have the opportunity to see our facilities and classrooms in action. Private tours are happily offered and scheduled at your convenience.  To arrange a private tour, please contact the Membership Chair at 301-365-3190 or

After touring the school, families who wish to apply should complete the registration form and submit it to the Membership Chair with the registration fee ($65).  Once the registration period for currently enrolled students and other priority groups has passed, new students will be offered a spot or placed on the wait list according to the date their registrations are received.  Glenbrook reserves the right to balance classes by gender.
