Family Events

Playground Beautification Day
Before the start of school, Glenbrook families come together to help spruce up the playground for the upcoming school year. The entire family is invited to participate in gardening activities as well as building maintenance projects. It is a great opportunity to see old friends and meet new members.

Fall Festival
Glenbrook families pack picnic lunches and join in some fall fun at a local orchard. The children will get a chance to explore learning stations, jump in a hayloft, run around a corn maze, feed animals, enjoy a hayride and of course pick a pumpkin from the patch!

Boo Bash
A Halloween Dance-A-Thon for Glenbrook family and friends to help raise money for new and ongoing school initiatives. Families are encouraged to arrive in costume for a spooktacular time!

Winter Cookie Exchange
A holiday coffee/hot chocolate social and cookie exchange (recipes are shared!) for Glenbrook families to share their baked goods.

Hootenanny
(hōōt’n-ăn’ē) – a gathering at which folk singers and instrumentalists entertain often with the audience joining in.
Hootenanny celebrates our musical diversity and offers an opportunity for our children and parents to enjoy the musical (or juggling) talents of our community. Previous years’ performances have included favorite sing-a-long songs, instrument solos (flute, guitar, piano, voice), cup stacking and interactive songs (Row Row Row Your Boat sung in rounds by the students). This event is always a crowd favorite for parents and students alike!

Annual International Potluck Lunch
All of our cultures represented and displayed in the wonderful form of food! We are so lucky to have so many nationalities represented at Glenbrook. We celebrate and learn more about wonderfully diverse heritages and food at this annual lunch. Each family is asked to bring a favorite main dish or dessert to share from their home country (or state), and stay to savor all of the delicious food from around the globe.

End of the Year Picnic
Glenbrook families enjoy some food, families catch up, the children play and we say our bitter sweet year-end goodbyes.
